The customer acquired this car after it had a successful racing career but needed a bit of TLC.
We carried out a full strip down & took the underside to bear metal where we repaired any corrosion & damage from over the years.
It was repainted & rebuilt with extra detail to be aesthetically pleasing and not just a stripped-out race car.
The engine & drivetrain were also rebuilt & upgraded for reliability.
1957 AUSTIN A35 Academy car
This car was brought to us to be prepared for the Goodwood Revival Academy race series and was thought to be a solid car! After returning from the blasters to remove the paint we were left with a body shell that was rotten & patched up from the door handles down! We set about fabricating new panels & repairing the structure ready for the paint shop. It was then built up into a great little car using the Academy parts kit & homologated engine.
In only its second race it was involved in a collision with another competitor resulting in the car barrel rolling 8 times destroying its self, fortunately the repaired structure and roll cage did their job and the driver was not injured although a little dizzy!
With only 2 months to go before the Goodwood revival, against the odds we managed to find a partially repaired body for us to finish & completely rebuild the car ready for the meeting, we even managed to make the second car better & prettier!
